Oliver Bridge to close for railroad work

The Oliver Bridge, located over the St. Louis River at the junction of Highway 39 and Wisconsin Highway 105 in Duluth, will close from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Thursday for railroad work.

The bridge will not close until 8:30 a.m. and all equipment will be removed from the bridge and the bridge will be re-opened to traffic by 4:30 p.m.

Motorists traveling on 27th Avenue West and 46th Avenue West near Interstate 35 in Duluth will be restricted to a single lane in each direction from Friday, September 13 through Friday September 20. The lane restrictions are needed as crews adjust manhole and valve castings.

County’s Veterans Service Office
in Duluth to hold open house

The St. Louis County Veterans Service Office in Duluth will host an open house for veterans and their family members on Friday, September 6, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Veterans Service Office is located at 4815 Burning Tree Road, Suite 100.

The open house will include a free lunch of burgers and brats, plus tours of the office and opportunity to meet the Veterans Service Officers. Representatives of other organizations that serve veterans also will be available.
