DULUTH, Minn. — City of Duluth Director of Business and Economic Development Heather Rand today announced her resignation, effective November 9.
She also served as the executive director of the Duluth Economic Development Authority and had oversight over the Workforce Development division and the Duluth 1200 Fund, a non-profit board. During her three-year tenure, Rand has managed many economic development projects and led the city’s efforts to continue building momentum in the revitalization of our business sectors throughout Duluth.
“We appreciate Heather’s contributions to the city and its residents,” Duluth Mayor Emily Larson said.
In a press release, the city said it expects to post the position October 1 to allow time for the hiring process and ensure a smooth transition. The director level position is appointed by the mayor and approved by the Duluth City Council.
