St. Louis County Public Works and the City of Hermantown will hold a joint meeting for the public to discuss this summer’s planned construction on Maple Grove Road, and Stebner Park — and at the intersection of Ugstad Road, Lavaque Bypass and Highway 53.
The meeting will be Tuesday, April 16, at 6 p.m., in the Hermantown City Council Chambers. Engineers from both the county and city will provide information and answer questions about what’s being planned, how it will affect travel in the area, and the anticipated schedule.
Key details of the planned projects include:
. Repaving of Maple Grove Road between Midway Road and Westberg Road, plus new sidewalk and curb and gutter.
. New sanitary sewer line along Maple Grove Road between Stebner Park and Loberg Avenue.
. An accessible path will be constructed from Maple Grove Road to the shelter in Stebner Park.
. Major improvements at the intersection of Ugstad Road and Lavaque Bypass with Highway 53. This will include a reconfiguration of the intersection, a new traffic signal and street lighting, longer turn lanes and other safety improvements.
