City seeks applications for Public Golf Committee

By Kate Van Daele
The City of Duluth Parks and Recreation Commission is seeking applications for the Public Golf Committee. This is a sub-committee of the Parks and Recreation Commission, and was approved by the commission on January 8, 2020.

The Public Golf Committee will develop and present recommendations to the Parks and Recreation Commission to address improvements to public golf that align with the, “Proposed Changes to Ownership and Use of Public Green Space in the Lester Park and Enger Park Areas” plan.

This Committee will foster communication, cooperation, and consultation between golf management, Parks and Recreation Commission, City Administration, and golfers. Membership shall be determined by Parks and Recreation Commission members volunteering or appointments made by the President.

Members of this sub-committee will elect a chair. Non-commission committee members may be recruited to serve on committees as non-voting members.

Interested members of the public wishing to serve on the sub-committee may apply through the Parks and Recreation website – under the, “Apply to the Public Golf Committee” link in the middle of the homepage. Meetings will take place on a monthly basis, and will be determined by the sub-committee chair. For questions, please contact our office at 218-730-4325 or parks@duluthmn.gov.
