Soon Duluth residents will have more options for care.
Essentia Health will open an Urgent Care at its West Duluth Clinic on May 7. The Urgent Care will be open seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at 4212 Grand Ave., Duluth.
“Opening our Urgent Care in West Duluth shows how we are responding to the health care needs of the community,” said Paige Stager, who manages Urgent Care clinics at Essentia. “That makes this an extremely exciting project to be a part of.”
Beginning May 12, the West Duluth Clinic pharmacy will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. seven days a week to better serve patients and the community.
While the West Duluth Clinic has same day access to see patients, opening Urgent Care also will provide convenience to patients, increasing accessibility and offering the appropriate level of care.
“We have fabulous same-day primary care access for our West Duluth residents, but now it will be so nice to provide that same access on the weekends with Urgent Care,” said Nancy Dettle, who manages operations at the Clinic. “This will also benefit our patients, because their Urgent Care visits, along with any lab work or prescriptions, will be included in their medical record.”
Urgent care is an option for many medical conditions that need to be treated but are not emergencies, such as strep throat, minor injuries or even skin infections. For emergency care, please go to the nearest emergency room or call 911.
