More than 540 students will be eligible to receive diplomas when the University of Wisconsin-Superior conducts its commencement on Saturday, May 19, at 2 p.m. at Siinto S. Wessman Arena on the UW-Superior campus.
Chancellor Dr. Renée Wachter will preside over the ceremony and present diplomas to students who have earned associate, bachelor’s and master’s degrees.
Delivering the keynote address to the fourth-largest class in the last 15 years will be Jodi Slick. A 1998 graduate of UW-Superior, Slick later returned to earn a master’s degree in Educational Administration in 2002. Slick is the founder and CEO of Ecolibrium3, a Duluth, Minn.,-based nonprofit organization working to create economic and environmental balance through the smart application of design thinking and strategic collaboration.
The student speaker will be Jessica Buelow, a Bachelor of Arts degree candidate with Magna Cum Laude honors. She is a Biology major with minors in Chemistry and Spanish.
The Chancellor’s Leadership Award will be presented to Rachel Bursik, Victoria Greer, and D’Andre Robinson. This award is given to a member of the graduating class who is committed to personal growth and has made a positive contribution to their peers, campus and community.
