The University of Wisconsin-Superior will hold its commencement on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Siinto S. Wessman Arena on the UW-Superior campus. Alumna Jodi Slick (right) will serve as the Commencement Speaker. A 1998 graduate, Slick later returned to earn a master’s degree in Educational Administration in 2002.
Slick is the founder and CEO of Ecolibrium3, a Duluth, Minn.,-based nonprofit organization working to create economic and environmental balance through the smart application of design thinking and strategic collaboration.
Her accomplishments include the development of several community-scale environmental programs in Duluth, which integrate existing community resources with an entrepreneurial approach to address unmet challenges in energy efficiency. Slick designed Ecolibrium3’s Duluth Energy Efficiency Program and flood-response program. She also chairs the Regional Long Term Flood Recovery Committee, and serves as an Energy Leader for the development of the City of Duluth’s Local Energy Action Plan.
In 2013, Slick was honored by the White House as a Champion of Change for Community Resilience.
