The Bulldogs will face the Minnesota Gophers in a college men’s basketball exhibition on Nov. 1 at historic Williams Arena.
“What a great opportunity for our program,” said UMD coach Justin Wieck. “Many of our current, former and future players have ties back to the Minneapolis area. We look forward to the challenge of playing on that stage, and providing a great experience for our entire program, bringing together many generations of UMD basketball. It will be a special night for our program.”
The Bulldogs will open the regular season Nov. 10 against St. Scholastica at newly-renovated Romano Gynmasium.
“We’re beyond excited to start playing in what will now be a premier arena on the national level,” said Wieck. “Hosting St. Scholastica is a great thing for the city of Duluth. We can’t wait to show off all the exciting changes that have taken place over the past six months. It’s a must see for all basketball and UMD fans in our city.”
