Do you need tools to help manage stress and achieve a higher state of well-being?
Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is an 8-week course consisting of weekly sessions and one all-day retreat. It is based on the highly successful, scientifically proven stress reduction program established in 1979 by Jon Kabat-Zinn.
Weekly sessions include:
. Instruction in mindfulness meditation practices and mindful living
. Gentle stretching and mindful yoga
. Exercises to enhance awareness in everyday life
. Group discussion centering on specific topics related to mindful living
Course dates occur on Wednesdays. Orientation is January 10 from 6 to 7:15 p.m. at Amberwing, 615 Pecan Ave., Duluth. The following course dates are Jan. 24th, Jan. 31st, Feb. 7, 14, 21, 28, March 7 and 14th from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. A silent retreat will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 3rd. All classes will be held in the community room at Amberwing.
The price for the 8-week course and day-long silent retreat is $325.
