Ursa Minor Brewery, which features craft beer and wood-fired pizza, opened Wednesday afternoon to a standing-room crowd in Duluth’s Lincoln Park Craft District.

Righthander Bernie Burnham, president of the Duluth Federation of Teachers, threw out the ceremonial first pitch before a Duluth Huskies college baseball game earlier this summer at historic Wade Stadium in West Duluth. A former softball standout, Bernie showed her still strong, accurate throwing arm and threw a strike to the Huskies catcher stationed behind home plate, much to the delight of the large crowd.
Duluth Denfeld wide receiver Wryott Gerson hauled in a pass in the left flat and turned it into a nice gain during the second quarter of Friday night’s 34-12 loss against Cloquet at historic Public Schools Stadium. The Hunters fell to 1-1 overall.

Lincoln Park received only a dusting of snow overnight, while other areas of the Northland reported measurable snow amounts.
