New map options available for ATV riders in St. Louis County

St. Louis County has new map options available to make it easier for ATV operators to know where they can legally drive on roads and trails. The County Land Explorer now includes a ‘recreation theme’ highlighting authorized ATV routes, including county roads, state trails, and Forest Service roads and trails. Koreans visit to learn about combating violence against women

St. Louis County Attorney Mark Rubin today hosted a group of women from South Korea who wanted to learn more about how to combat gender-based violence against women while promoting gender equality. New Chisholm roundabout opens Wednesday

The roundabout at the intersection of Highway 73 and Highway 5 in Chisholm is set to open Wednesday afternoon. The opening of the roundabout marks the completion of a multi-year project to re-route Highway 5, which was needed in order to accommodate an expansion of mining operations at Hibbing Taconite. Tax-forfeited land auction results: 30 properties sold for $745,650

St. Louis County held its third auction of the year in an effort to return tax forfeited properties back to the property tax base, and the results are the best in recent memory. Out of 78 properties listed for sale, 30 sold for a total of $745,650. St. Louis County seeks proposals for Aquatic Invasive Species prevention

St. Louis County is looking for ideas on how to prevent the introduction or limit the spread of Aquatic Invasive Species in lakes, rivers and other bodies of water. The County has $711,323 to award in grant money through the state’s AIS Prevention Aid Program.
