Essentia Health Fit-n-Fun Run held today

About 1,900 Duluth elementary school students participated in the 11th annual Essentia Health Fit-n-Fun Run today at Public Schools Stadium track.

Third-, fourth- and fifth-graders from Duluth elementary schools competed in the one-quarter mile races throughout the day, and all students received Fit-n-Fun Run T-shirts and ribbons.

In 2008, Grandma’s Marathon and the Young Athletes Foundation partnered with Duluth Public Schools and Essentia Health to create the Fit-n-Fun Middle School Assemblies and Fit-n-Fun Run. The two initiatives are aimed toward motivating children to lead healthier lifestyles.

The Essentia Health Fit-n-Fun Middle School Assemblies featured the Gold Medalist USA Men’s Curling Team, who spoke to middle school students in Duluth and Superior on May 8.
