Dr. Ryan Watson, a general surgeon, has joined the Essentia Health-Virginia Clinic.
Dr. Watson earned a medical degree from the University of Minnesota Medical School in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He completed a residency in general surgery at Gundersen Lutheran in La Crosse, Wisconsin.
As a general surgeon, Dr. Watson performs common and complex surgical procedures, often using minimally invasive techniques.
“One of the reasons I chose surgery as my specialty is because I really enjoy working with my hands,” he sid. “I love having the opportunity to directly improve patients’ lives with the care I can provide.”

Dr. Gabriel Edwards, an interventional radiologist, has joined the interventional radiology team at Essentia Health-Duluth Clinic where he will diagnose and treat a wide array of conditions using image-guided procedures that are minimally invasive.
“I love the variety of patients I get to care for and the broad spectrum of conditions that are treatable with the technology we have available to us,” Dr. Edwards said.
Dr. Edwards earned a medical degree from the University of Nevada in Reno, Nevada. He completed a residency in diagnostic radiology at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane, Washington, and a fellowship in interventional radiology at the University of Vermont in Burlington, Vermont.
“The technology we use as interventional radiologists is very cutting-edge, and it’s getting better all the time,” he said. “I feel like we are at the forefront of the direction that medicine is going, and that is very exciting.”
