Minnesota 8th Congressional candidate Pete Stauber issued the following statement Wednesday after President Trump signed the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, which will help create more jobs, increase paychecks and make the tax code simpler and fairer for Americans of all walks of life:
“This legislation is another step in the right direction to provide much-needed tax relief to the hard-working families of Minnesota’s Eighth district. Doubling the standard deduction, expanding the Child Tax Credit, simplifying the process of filing taxes and doubling the ‘Death Tax’ exemption are all vital to taking the burden off the back of middle-class families and small business owners, and returning more money back into the pockets of deserving families rather than into the hands of Washington bureaucrats.
“Meanwhile, Representatives Rick Nolan and Nancy Pelosi have done nothing but fearmonger and promote petty class-warfare at a time when we need a representative who will stand up and protect the paychecks of hard-working Minnesotans. Even the Washington Post gave Nolan ‘Four Pinocchios’ for parroting Pelosi’s partisan talking points and spreading misinformation about tax reform. Once again, Nolan is showing how out of touch with Eighth district voters he really is.”
