Swim Creative, a branding, advertising and digital firm in Duluth, announced today the recent hire of Andrew Soucek (right) in the role of copywriter. He will join Swim’s talented collective of thinkers, tacticians and creatives who build brands, websites and ad campaigns.
Soucek grew up in Litchfield, Minn. After graduating from Minnesota State University Moorhead with twin B.A. degrees in Film Production and Journalism, he headed east for the Dakotas, where he gained valuable experience in copywriting, producing and creative coordination, earning multiple Addy Awards along the way. He also hosts multiple podcasts about professional wrestling, because of course he does.
“I was immediately drawn to the quality of the Swim team’s work,” said Soucek, when asked why he decided to make the move to Duluth. “I wanted to be a part of that. And, I can’t quite explain it, but I always figured I’d end up in Duluth. I have family in the area and it’s been my favorite city to visit for as long as I can remember.
“I’ve always loved creating stories. When I was in 9th grade, I worked at a video store and saved up to buy a camcorder and made dozens of short films. In college, I met Bruce Campbell (star of Evil Dead) at a book signing and told him I wanted to make commercials. He asked why. I said, ‘I think I can do it better.'”
So does Swim.
