Students, staff and faculty members at The College of St. Scholastica are once again rolling up their sleeves to volunteer at local non-profits.
St. Scholastica’s Fall Community Day will be on Wednesday, Oct. 3. Hundreds of College community members typically take part in the event, as classes are canceled for the day to allow more people to participate.
A sampling of volunteer sites will be shared the week before the event. Among the activities:
. 3 to 4 p.m. Homecroft KEYZONE, 4784 Howard Gnesen Road. Contact: Lori Maly, 218-336-8865 ext. 2550. Volunteers will pair up with students to read for Read-a-thon, with the option of staying longer to hang out, play games or do crafts.
. 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. American Red Cross, 2524 Maple Grove Road. Contact: Dan Williams, 218-722-0071. Holiday Mail for Heroes: card writing, sorting, bundling for Northern MN/WI Service Members and Vets.
The college also holds a Spring Community Day each February.
The College of St. Scholastica is nationally recognized for quality. Rankings by U.S. News & World Report, Forbes, and Money magazine classify it as one of the Midwest’s top regional universities. Learn more at css.edu.
