Duluth officials conduct initial assessment following storm surge

By Pakou Ly City of Duluth officials have conducted a very preliminary assessment of the damages as a result of yesterday’s storm surge. During the assessment, the city reviewed multiple areas such as Park Point, Brighton Beach, the Lakewalk Trail and western neighborhoods. Tattoos on the Heart theme of Health & Human Service Conference

Father Gregory Boyle, the founder of Homeboy Industries, the largest gang intervention, rehab and re-entry program in the country, will be the keynote speaker kicking off this year’s St. Louis County Health and Human Services Conference at the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center. William A. Irvin move delayed

The City of Duluth and the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center were anticipating the move of the William A. Irvin ship out of the Minnesota Slip to Fraser Shipyard this week. The move is necessary for restoration and repairs of the historic 610 foot laker but is dependent on calm winds and lake conditions since the ship has no propulsion mechanisms. Duluth to implement pilot project in Canal Park

DECC open interviews begin Tuesday

The Duluth Entertainment Convention Center will hold open interviews for multiple positions on Tuesday and August 22. Jobs are part-time with flexible hours. Interviews will take place in the DECC Arena lobby from noon to 1:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. both days.
