LAKEWOOD TOWNSHIP, Minn. — Two motorcyclists suffered non-life-threatening injuries in separate crashes Monday evening in Lakewood and Grand Lake townships. Smoke from the wildfires also is creating dangerous air quality conditions across the region. By Wednesday morning, air quality throughout St. Louis County was expected to reach hazardous or very unhealthy levels.

A 46-year-old man was sentenced Tuesday to 12 years in prison after being convicted of multiple counts of criminal sexual conduct involving a minor, according to the St. Louis County Attorney's Office. Chief Judge Leslie E. Beiers sentenced Shawn Francis Mortensen to 144 months in prison
