The UW-Superior Alumni Association and Chancellor Renée Wachter invite alumni, friends and community members to attend the 2018 Holiday Ball on Saturday, Dec. 1, at 6 p.m. in the Yellowjacket Union.
As UW-Superior celebrates its 125th year, the Alumni Association has made exciting changes to this long-standing holiday tradition, starting with the event title.
“Changing the name from the Chancellor’s Ball to the Holiday Ball was not an easy decision,” said Nick Trimner, Chair of the Alumni Association. “This event has been going on for nearly 50 years, which is amazing. However, we feel the new title is far more inclusive. Everyone is welcome to attend this event, and we wanted to make sure that was reflected in the name.”
For decades, the ball has been known as the premier social event to kick-off the holiday season in the community. This year’s event will feature a social hour with music and professional photography, a delicious plated dinner, a fabulous silent auction, and a 1920s-themed after party with dancing, drinks and more.
“As we are in our 125th anniversary year, we’re looking forward to some exciting updates to this long-standing holiday tradition,” said Wachter. “I hear there may be flaming desserts served during the roaring twenties-themed after party.”
With many festive and fun additions to this year’s event, it’s sure to be a fabulous evening – all to benefit UW-Superior students and alumni. Tickets start at $50 per person. For more information and to register, please visit uwsuper.edu/HolidayBall or call 715-394-8452.
