UW-Superior Music Department to present Opera Scenes

Students from the University of Wisconsin-Superior Music Department will perform scenes from the music theatre and comic opera genres for Opera Scenes on Tuesday, Nov. 21, at 7:30 p.m. in the Thorpe Langley Auditorium.

The evening will include performances from “A Little Night Music,” by Stephen Sondheim, “The Elixir of Love,” by Gaetano Donizetti, “The Impresario,” by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and “Street Scene,” by Kurt Weill.

“Audience members will get a little taste of some of the highlight moments in each of these shows,” said Dr. Vicki Fingalson, Associate Professor of Voice and Director of Opera Workshop at UW-Superior. “Opera Workshop is a wonderful way for students to explore and develop their overall performance skills.”

Tickets are $5 for adults, $3 for seniors and free for students. The Thorpe Langley Auditorium is located in Old Main at 1710 Weeks Ave. in Superior. For questions or additional information, call (715) 394-8115 or email music@uwsuper.edu.
