The Bulldogs men are ranked fifth in the 2023-24 National Collegiate Hockey Conference Preseason Poll.

UMD finished fifth in the league with a 10-14-0 record a year ago, and 16-20-1 overall. The Bulldogs ended the 2022-23 season by losing a three-game series at St. Cloud State in the first round of the conference playoffs.

Sophomore Ben Steeves and junior Dominic James, dynamic forwards who finished 1-2 in team scoring a year ago, received votes for the NCHC Preseason All-Conference team.

UMD opens at home against Michigan Tech on Saturday, Oct. 7.
