Duluth Playhouse will open the Pulitzer Prize-winning musical Next to Normal, running March 15-31 at the NorShor Theatre. Featuring an electrifying rock score, the show tells the story of a seemingly picture-perfect family that is grappling with loss and mental illness. It is an incredibly poignant and powerful piece of musical theatre that goes where few can with honesty and conviction, promising audiences a raw and unforgettable experience.
The cast features Trevor Lindley Craft as Elvis Presley, Wyatt Andrew Brownell as Jerry Lee Lewis, Davis Wood as Johnny Cash and Drew Black as Carl Perkins. Tyler Railey plays Dyanne, the sharp-witted singer, while Dan Prevette takes on Sun Records founder Sam Phillips.

St. Louis County Public Works and the city of Duluth are partnering on the project, which will eventually reconstruct nearly a half-mile of 40th Avenue West and add a mini roundabout at Grand Avenue. The city also will replace utilities beneath 40th Avenue West as part of the project.
Duluth does not have one governmentwide financial crisis. It has a school district in a precarious position and a city government that is beginning to encounter some of the same cost-versus-revenue pressures.
