Rock Ridge at Grand Rapids, 7 p.m. Winner advances to face No. 1 seed North Branch in a semifinal Saturday at 6 p.m. in North Branch.

Section 7AAAAA Quarterfinal, Tuesday

Duluth East at Sauk Rapids-Rice, 7 p.m. Winner advances to face No. 2 seed Andover in a semifinal at 1 p.m. Saturday in Andover.

Defenseman Neal Pionk and the Winnipeg Jets are off to sizzling starts this season.

Pionk, 29, has a goal and six points for the 4-0 Jets. The former Hermantown High and Bulldogs standout had a goal and three assists in an 8-3 home victory over San Jose Sharks on Friday night. The Island Lake resident will be an unrestricted free agent at the end of this season.
