Legendary Hermantown football head coach Mike Zagelmeyer on Saturday's Section 7AAAA semifinal against either Duluth Denfeld or Cloquet at Corey Veech Field in Hermantown – “I think our section is wide open. Obviously, until someone dethrones North Branch, they have to be the favorite, but there are a multitude of teams who could win this thing. Denfeld is always dangerous when you have the playmakers like they have. Grand Rapids has played its best football coming down the stretch here, and even Rock Ridge is dangerous. The one thing I do know is that we have to remain focused and take it one game at a time. We can't afford to look ahead as that is how teams get knocked off. However, it will be nice to see other teams battle it out on Tuesday night. That helps with not only keeping our guys healthy but healing up from the regular season stretch run. Furthermore, there are also some things we need to clean up from last Wednesday night (an impressive 1-19 road win at Duluth Denfeld). We made some mistakes in that game that we shouldn't be making in the last week of the regular season, so those mistakes will need to be addressed early in this upcoming week as well. I know for certain that our guys are really looking forward to the playoffs and whoever we play on Saturday.”
