Reinert

Another Facebook post by Duluth mayoral candidate Roger Reinert: "Yesterday many of you called, texted, and messaged to let me know you got a text 'poll.' Well, I got it too. But friends, it wasn't a poll. It's something called a 'push poll' - a DC-style negative campaign tactic which we've never seen before in a local Duluth election. From Ballotpedia.org/Push_polling: 'Push polling is a negative campaigning technique . . . used to influence voters by asking specific questions about an issue or a candidate. Under the guise of an objective opinion poll, loaded questions are posed to mislead or bias the listener against an opposing candidate or political party. The American Association for Public Opinion Research (AAPOR), the American Association of Political Consultants, the Council for Marketing and Opinion Research, and the National Council on Public Polls have denounced the practice.' Thanks for letting me know you are concerned. I am too. Who's paying for this? Where's the legal disclaimer? Team RFD would never do this, and I would denounce it if anyone did it on our behalf."
