For the third consecutive year, the Vikings have made a Week 9 trade to compensate for a Week 8 injury.
This time, Minnesota (5-2) has finalized terms to acquire left tackle Cam Robinson and a 2026 conditional seventh-round pick from the Jacksonville Jaguars in return for a 2026 conditional fifth-round pick, contingent on Robinson passing a physical.
Robinson, who turned 29 earlier this month, was acquired in response to Christian Darrisaw's ACL and MCL injuries sustained on Oct. 24 during Minnesota's defeat at the Los Angeles Rams. The timing of Darrisaw's injury, occurring before this year's trade deadline (Nov. 5), was a minor consolation.
Robinson has been the starting left tackle in all 91 regular-season games he has played for the Jaguars, the team that selected him in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft, beginning with the first week of his rookie year.
The Alabama alum had an immediate impact, aiding Jacksonville in leading the NFL in rushing for the first time in the franchise's history. That team also allowed only 24 sacks, the lowest in a season for Jacksonville, and this performance propelled them to the AFC Championship Game.
Robinson has started in all seven games this season, taking part in 367 offensive snaps and 22 special teams plays. He has incurred just one penalty (a false start) this season.
Pro Football Focus, an analytics website, places Robinson 31st among tackles with a 69.4 offensive grade this season (minimum 200 total snaps). Darrisaw ranked 10th with an 81.4.
In pass blocking, Robinson is rated 35th with a 72.2 grade among tackles (minimum 100 pass block snaps). Darrisaw was 16th with a 79.9.
PFF credits Robinson with four sacks, three quarterback hits, and eight hurries over his 239 pass blocking snaps in 2024.
Last season, after Kirk Cousins' season-ending Achilles injury in Week 8 at Green Bay, Minnesota brought in quarterback Joshua Dobbs in Week 9.
