Duluth Police respond to student hit by vehicle

The driver, a 69-year-old woman, received a citation for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.

The Duluth Police's East High School Resource Officer responded to an incident in which a 14-year-old student was struck by a vehicle earlier today. The student was crossing at the intersection of 40th Avenue East and Luverne Street within the crosswalk when she was hit by a vehicle making an upbound turn onto 40th Avenue E. The student sustained minor injuries and was sent home for the day. The driver, a 69-year-old woman, received a citation for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
