Here is what is happening in Lake Superior College athletics:

Men’s Soccer Earns Tie at Anoka-Ramsey

The LSC Men’s Soccer team tied Anoka-Ramsey Community College 2-2 on Friday, October 4, giving the IceHawks their first Minnesota Collegiate Athletic Conference (MCAC) points of the season.

Leading scorer Kye Marsden netted two goals in the first 22 minutes of the game.

The IceHawks have their home finale Sunday, October 13 against Dakota County Technical College at Terry Egerdahl Memorial Field.

Clay Target Remains First in the MCAC

The LSC Co-Ed Clay Target team continues to be in front of the MCAC Red Division after 4 weeks of competition. The IceHawks had the top score of all division teams in week 4 at 541 and now has a season total of 2,194 points.

Williston State College (N.D.) is in second place of the Red Division with 1,916.50 points. Lake Superior College is one of three teams in the MCAC with over 2,000 points after four weeks (North Dakota State College of Science-2,448; Alexandria Technical & Community College-2,080)

Jacob Jarvi and Nicholas Pearson led LSC in week 4 connecting on 49-of-50 targets. Tanner Helin, Nick Boucher and Cooper Goutermont all recorded 48-of-50 targets. Jarvi ranks third in the MCAC with a 49.00 season average. Boucher is fourth in the league at 48.83. Isabelle Schlander ranks fifth among women shooters in the conference with a season average of 46.60. Schlander recorded a 50-straight in week 3.

The IceHawks will compete in the MCAC Championships on Tuesday, October 15 at Alexandria Shooting Park in Alexandria, Minnesota.

Clay Target Also First in USA Clay Target Conference

The IceHawks are also competing simultaneously in the national USA Clay Target League and are in first place in Conference 5 after two weeks of competition with 1,593.5 points.

LSC leads Bethany Lutheran College (Minn.) who is in second place with 1,345.50 points. Jarvi, Boucher and Helin are tied for third amongst male shooters in the conference, while Allana Calrson ranks first amongst female shooters in the conference and fourth nationally with 24.25 average through two weeks.
