Here are the latest happenings in Lake Superior College athletics:

Clay Target Wins MCAC Red Division Championship; Places Fourth at MCAC Championships

The LSC Co-Ed Clay Target team captured the Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) Red Division championship for the seventh time with a season point total of 2,733.50 points. The IceHawks beat out second-place Williston State College (N.D.) by over 300 points. The point total was the second highest out of all the MCAC teams, regardless of division (North Dakota State College of Science-3,098.00 points).

Jacob Jarvi recorded the highest individual overall score in the MCAC this season with an average point total of 24.6.  Nick Boucher and Tanner Helin tied for second overall in the red division with an average of 24.2. Isabelle Schlander led the IceHawk women shooters, placing third in the red division with a season average of 23.3.

The IceHawks then competed at the MCAC Championships on October 15 at Alexandria Shooting Park in Alexandria, Minnesota. The IceHawks placed fourth out of 17 teams with 470 points. Helin and Chase Graves tied for the highest individual score of the entire championship, connecting on 98 of 100 targets.

Clay Target Remains in First is USA Clay Target Division

The IceHawks are also competing simultaneously in the national USA Clay Target League and remain in first place in Conference 5 after four weeks of competition with 3,061.00 points.

LSC leads Bethany Lutheran College (Minn.) who is in second place with 2,591.50 points. Jarvi ranks fourth nationally with an average score of 24.5, while Boucher ranks 10th nationally with an average of 24.38. Allana Carlson leads the female shooters with an average of 23.63, which is ninth nationally among women.

Men’s Soccer Season Comes to an End

The LSC Men’s Soccer team wrapped up its season earlier this season with a 2-0 loss to Anoka-Ramsey Community College in the NJCAA Region XIII Tournament.

The IceHawks finished with a 1-11-1 overall record and 0-7-1 in the MCAC.
